Veneer Guide · Brands
Best Veneer Brands in India
With veneer, the brand matters for how the wood is selected, sliced, graded and backed. Here is how we judge veneer brands from behind the counter, the national names you will see, and how to buy a bundle well.
Why the Brand Matters More for Veneer
With laminate, every sheet of a shade code is identical, so the brand mostly decides range and price. Veneer is different: each bundle comes from a different log, and the brand's real value is in how it selects, slices, grades and backs that wood. A good veneer brand gives you consistent thickness, clean leaves, honest grading, well-matched bundles and a backing that doesn't let glue bleed through. A poor one gives you a beautiful sample and a bundle full of splits.
So rather than a ranked "top 10", which mostly reflects who paid for the list, here is how we judge veneer brands from behind the counter, followed by the well-known national names you will come across in Ahmedabad.
Eight Checks for Any Veneer Brand
1 · Thickness
Even across the leaf
Face veneer is typically 0.3–0.6 mm; it should be consistent edge to edge. Veneer thickness guide.
2 · Grading
Honest grades
A-grade should mean clean leaves without splits, knots or patches across the bundle, not just on top.
3 · Bundle integrity
Leaves in sequence
Natural veneer should come in log sequence so it can be book-matched.
4 · Backing
Paper or fleece quality
A good backing stops glue bleed and cracking on the face.
5 · Moisture
Properly dried
Wet veneer shrinks and cracks after pasting. Leaves should lie flat and feel dry.
6 · Range
Natural and recon
A range covering teak, oak, walnut, smoked and recon veneer lets you match across a home.
7 · Availability
Repeatable designs
For recon, can you get the same design again next year?
8 · Invoice
Branded and billed
A GST invoice naming the brand and design, so you can trace the bundle.

How to Buy Veneer Well, Whatever the Brand
Look at the bundle, not the sample. Ask to see leaves from the middle and bottom of the bundle you will actually take. Buy the whole room at once and add 10–15% for wastage and matching. Check in daylight, wet: wipe a leaf with a damp cloth to preview it under clear polish. Store flat and dry until pasting. Budget for the finish: polish and labour can cost as much as the veneer. The full price picture is on our veneer sheet price page, and the choice between real wood and printed finishes is in veneer vs laminate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which is the best veneer brand in India?
There is no single best brand. The best veneer is a well-graded, evenly sliced, properly dried bundle with a good backing. Greenlam, CenturyPly, Greenply, Durian and Royale Touche are well-known national names, and specialist veneer houses also supply excellent natural veneer.
How do I check veneer quality?
Check thickness consistency, clean leaves through the bundle (not just on top), log sequence for book-matching, a good backing, dry flat leaves and a GST invoice naming the brand.
Is branded veneer worth it?
Usually, for traceability, consistent grading and the ability to reorder a recon design. But always judge the actual bundle you will receive.
What thickness should good veneer be?
Face veneer is typically about 0.3–0.6 mm. What matters is that it is even across the leaf and suits the job.
Can I mix veneer brands in one room?
Avoid it for natural veneer on the same surfaces. Colour and grain will differ. Buy each room's veneer from one bundle.
