Best for dry indoor areas — wardrobes, beds, TV units, shelves. Not waterproof.
Handles moderate humidity. Good for bedrooms, living rooms and moderate-use kitchens.
Boiling Water Proof (BWP) grade. Best for kitchens, bathrooms and all moisture-prone areas.
Superior veneer quality. Best for painted furniture, high-end joinery and premium interiors.
The most common mistake buyers make is using commercial plywood where moisture resistance is required, or overspending on BWP where commercial grade would do the job. Here is a quick reference.
Use Marine (BWP) plywood. Full waterproofing is essential near sinks, steam and appliances.
Marine (BWP) plywood only. No other grade is suitable for constant moisture exposure.
Commercial or MR Grade is perfectly fine. No moisture risk in a dry bedroom environment.
Commercial plywood is the standard choice for TV units, sofas and display cabinets.
