Plywood Warranty Guide
A 10-, 21- or 30-year plywood warranty protects you only if you can prove what you bought and how it was used. Here are the warranty tiers we publish, what usually voids a claim, the five documents to keep, and how we help.
A Warranty Is Only as Good as Your Paperwork
Branded plywood comes with a manufacturer's warranty, often 5, 10, 21 or even 30 years depending on the line. Those numbers are real, but they protect you only if you can prove three things when something goes wrong: which product you bought, when and from whom, and that it was used for what it was meant for. Most failed claims fail on one of those three, not on the plywood.

What Usually Voids a Plywood Warranty

Wrong grade for the job
MR plywood under a sink isn't a manufacturing defect. Match the grade to the area. MR vs BWR vs BWP.

Standing water and leaks
A leaking trap left for months damages any wood product.

No proof of purchase
Without a GST invoice naming the brand and line, a claim rarely goes anywhere.

Not registered
Some brands ask you to register the purchase within a set time. Check the card.

Termite damage from the building

Five Documents to Keep
1. The GST invoice naming the brand, line, grade, thickness and quantity. 2. The warranty card or certificate, filled in and, if required, registered. 3. Photos of the sheet stamps (brand, grade, IS mark, batch) taken before the carpenter laminates over them. This is the step everyone forgets. 4. A note of where each line was used (kitchen base in Sainik 710, wardrobes in MR, and so on). 5. The carpenter's name and dates of work. Keep them together in one envelope or one phone album.
