Pine Wood

The budget end of the range. Light, soft and easy to work, which makes it the usual pick for packing, framing, temporary structures and painted interior work. Not for wet areas or heavy load-bearing.

How We Supply Timber

Timber is not sold like a plywood sheet. There is no standard 8×4 — every piece is cut to what the job needs, and it is priced by volume rather than area. Three ways it usually leaves our counter:

🚪 Door & Window Frames (Chaukhat)

The classic use for teak in Ahmedabad. We cut frame sections to your sizes in Burma, Ghana or Sudan teak. Bring your measurements — or WhatsApp them — and we quote against the actual requirement.

📏 Sawn Planks & Beams

Lumber sold by cubic foot (ghan foot) for carpenters who prefer to cut down themselves. Available across all six timbers in a range of thicknesses and lengths.

🪚 Furniture-Grade Cut Sizes

Pre-cut to your requirement for furniture, carving and panelling work — less wastage on site and less time at the saw for your carpenter.

Timber Rates in Ahmedabad

Timber is priced by the cubic foot — ghan foot, as it is usually asked for at the counter — not by the square foot like plywood. Here is the honest range across everything we stock:

₹2,000 – ₹8,000
per cubic foot (ghan foot)

Pine and Meranti sit at the entry end of that range. Ghana and Sudan teak fall in the middle. Burma teak sits at the top. Where your piece lands depends on the timber, the section size and the grade — so the number that matters is the one for your actual requirement, not a website average.

What Our Timber Is Used For

Door & Window Frames

Teak's natural oils resist termites and monsoon swelling — which is why chaukhat work has been teak's job for generations.

Furniture

Solid-wood beds, dining tables, wardrobes and cabinetry, in teak for longevity or Meranti and Ash for lighter budgets and tones.

Flooring

Solid timber flooring and skirting where hardwood durability and a natural grain finish are wanted underfoot.

Wall Panelling

Natural wood panelling and cladding for feature walls, reception areas and headboards.

Partitioning

Timber framing for wall partitions and false ceilings — the structure behind the finish.

Carving & Moulding

Teak and Meranti both carve cleanly, for jharokhas, temple work, beading and decorative mouldings.

Why Buy Your Timber From Samta

🌳

Properly Seasoned

Frequently Asked Questions

Timber at Samta Plywood Centre ranges from ₹2,000 to ₹8,000 per cubic foot (ghan foot). Pine and Meranti sit at the entry end of that range, Ghana and Sudan teak in the middle, and Burma teak at the top. The final rate depends on the timber, the size of the section and the grade, so call 8460783619 for today's rate on your requirement.
Burma teak is the benchmark — dense, high in natural oil, very stable, and priced accordingly. Ghana teak gives you most of teak's working qualities at a far lower rate and is the practical choice for most door frames and furniture. Sudan teak sits close to Ghana teak in character. If budget allows and the piece matters, choose Burma; for everyday joinery, Ghana teak is usually the sensible buy.
Teak contains natural oils that resist water, termites and warping, which is why it is used for door frames and long-life furniture. Meranti (Red Meranti) is a reddish hardwood that is lighter, softer and considerably cheaper. Meranti works well for interior furniture, panelling and beading, but it does not match teak for outdoor or wet-area durability.
Yes. Door and window frames are one of the main things our teak goes into. We supply timber cut to the frame sections you need, in Burma, Ghana or Sudan teak depending on your budget. Bring or WhatsApp your sizes on 8460783619 and we will quote for the exact requirement.
Yes. Seasoning matters more than almost anything else in timber — unseasoned wood shrinks, twists and opens up joints after the carpenter has finished. We stock properly seasoned timber so it stays dimensionally stable through Ahmedabad's dry summers and monsoon humidity.
