About Ghana Teak
Ghana teak is West African teak (Tectona grandis grown in Ghana). Regular grade is the everyday workhorse — hard, durable and genuinely teak, with the natural oils that let it stand up to Ahmedabad's monsoon humidity and to termites. It gives you most of what Burma teak does, at close to a quarter of the rate.
Regular grade carries a little more grain variation and the occasional knot compared with Ghana Teak Special — which is exactly why it is cheaper, and why it is the sensible pick for door and window frames (chaukhat) that will be painted or where perfect grain is not the point.
For a lighter budget still, compare it against Ivory Coast (CP) teak; for a step up in hardness, Sudan teak. All are seasoned and cut to size here.
What Ghana Teak is used for
- Door & window frames (chaukhat)
- Everyday solid-wood furniture
- Beds, wardrobes and cabinetry
- Structural joinery and partitioning
- Painted or hidden teak framing
How We Supply Ghana Teak
Timber is not sold like a plywood sheet — there is no standard 8×4. Every piece is cut to what the job needs and priced by volume. Three ways it leaves our Lati Bazar counter:
🚪 Door & Window Frames (Chaukhat)
Cut to your frame sections. Bring or WhatsApp your measurements and we quote against the exact requirement.
📏 Sawn Planks & Beams
Sold by cubic foot (ghan foot) for carpenters who cut down themselves — a range of thicknesses and lengths.
🪚 Furniture-Grade Cut Sizes
Pre-cut for furniture, carving and panelling — less wastage on site and less time at the saw.
