About Pine Wood
Pine is the budget end of our timber range — light, soft and very easy to work. That makes it the usual pick for packing cases, framing, temporary structures, shuttering support and painted interior work where cost matters more than strength or looks.
It is a softwood, so it is not for wet areas or heavy load-bearing, and it dents more easily than the hardwoods. For furniture that needs to last, or anything that will be polished rather than painted, the imported NZ / German pine is a cleaner, better-seasoned step up; for genuine durability, move to Meranti or a teak.
