About NZ / German Pine
NZ and German pine are imported softwoods — grown and processed abroad, then kiln-seasoned. Compared with ordinary local pine, they are cleaner, more knot-controlled and more dimensionally stable, which is why they are used for furniture carcasses, mouldings, beading and window components rather than just packing and framing.
They remain softwoods — lighter and less durable than the hardwoods — so for wet areas or long-life outdoor frames a teak is still the right call. But as an economical, paintable, workable timber with a tidy finish, imported pine sits a clear notch above local pine and below White Ash and Meranti on both quality and rate.
Supplied seasoned and sawn to size at Lati Bazar.

🪚 Furniture-Grade Cut Sizes
Pre-cut for furniture, carving and panelling — less wastage on site and less time at the saw.
