About Burma Teak
Burma teak (Tectona grandis from Myanmar) is the timber every other teak is measured against. It is dense, rich golden-brown, and carries more natural oil than any other wood on this page — which is what makes it resist termites, moisture and warping decades after installation. Once properly seasoned it barely moves, so joints stay tight and frames stay true.
It sits at the top of the range in both quality and rate. Where budget is tight, most customers step down to Ghana teak or Sudan teak, which give much of teak's working character for a fraction of the price — but for an heirloom piece, a temple door or a frame that must last a lifetime, Burma teak is still the honest choice.
We stock it seasoned and saw it to your frame sections, plank sizes or furniture cut-sizes at our Lati Bazar counter.
What Burma Teak is used for
- Premium door & window frames (chaukhat)
- Heirloom and solid-wood furniture
- Main doors, temple work and carving
- Exposed, clear-polished joinery
- Long-life outdoor-facing frames
How We Supply Burma Teak
Timber is not sold like a plywood sheet — there is no standard 8×4. Every piece is cut to what the job needs and priced by volume. Three ways it leaves our Lati Bazar counter:
🚪 Door & Window Frames (Chaukhat)
Cut to your frame sections. Bring or WhatsApp your measurements and we quote against the exact requirement.
📏 Sawn Planks & Beams
Sold by cubic foot (ghan foot) for carpenters who cut down themselves — a range of thicknesses and lengths.
🪚 Furniture-Grade Cut Sizes
Pre-cut for furniture, carving and panelling — less wastage on site and less time at the saw.
