A 7 × 3 ft door needs about 17 running ft of frame (two jambs and a head). GST extra.

Solid Teak Door: Timber Cost
A 7 × 3.5 ft solid teak panel shutter uses roughly 4 cft of timber including wastage. Timber only; carving, labour, polish and hardware extra.

Factors That Affect Door Price
Core
Material inside
Pine mix, double-core pine, WPC or solid teak. Solid cores cost more and last longer. See solid vs hollow core.
Grade
MR or BWP
BWP (waterproof) flush doors cost roughly 20–50% more than MR at our rates, and are essential for kitchens and bathrooms.
Thickness
30, 32 or 35 mm
Thicker doors cost more but stay flatter and block more sound. See flush door thickness.
Size
Price per sq ft
A 7 × 3.5 ft main door is 17% bigger than a 7 × 3 ft bedroom door, so it costs 17% more at the same rate.
Finish
Laminate, veneer or paint
Laminate is the value choice; veneer and PU polish cost more in material and labour. See door laminates.
Extras
Frame, hardware, glass
Frames, hinges, locks, handles, glass strips and grooving all add to the total, so budget for them separately.
Check This Before You Compare Quotes
Shutter only or with frame? Many quotes are for the door shutter alone. Per door or per sq ft? Convert everything to the same basis. Grade and thickness: a cheaper quote is often an MR door where you need BWP, or 30 mm where you asked for 35 mm. Core: ask whether it is solid pine, pine mix or double core. Finish: is laminate or veneer included, on one face or both? Bill: insist on a GST bill naming the brand, grade and thickness.
Mistakes That Cost More Later
Choosing on looks alone without checking the core, buying thin shutters to save a few hundred rupees, putting MR doors in bathrooms or kitchens, leaving edges unsealed, and fitting heavy doors with too few hinges. For a main door, three bedroom doors, a kitchen door and two bathroom doors, a practical mix is a 35 mm BWP flush main door with laminate, 30 mm MR double-core bedroom doors with laminate, a 32 mm BWP kitchen door and 24 mm WPC bathroom doors. Price depends on the core material, the grade (MR or BWP), the thickness, the size, the finish and extras such as frames, hardware and glass. Always compare quotes on the same basis.
Which door is cheapest?
A 30 mm MR pine-mix flush door is the most economical at ₹101 per sq ft. For wet areas, a BWP flush door or a WPC door is worth the extra.
Do you sell PVC doors?
Yes. Flexibond PVC doors come in 24, 28 and 30 mm. The 30 mm PVC door is ₹224 per sq ft, about ₹3,920 for a 7 x 2.5 ft door before GST; 24 and 28 mm rates on request.
