What Is a WPC Door?
WPC stands for wood plastic (or wood polymer) composite. Fine wood fibre is mixed with polymer and pressed into a dense, solid slab, then cut to door size. The result looks and works like wood (you can drill it, fit hinges and locks, laminate or paint it) but behaves like plastic around water: it does not absorb moisture, swell at the bottom edge, rot or feed termites. WPC Door Designs and Finishes
Flexibond WPC doors come in a wood colour that can be used as it is. For a different look, your carpenter can laminate the door in woodgrain, matte or solid colour, paint it in PU, or add grooves, a glass vision panel or louvres for ventilation. Common WPC Door Buying Mistakes
Buying on price alone: low-density WPC from unknown sources flexes and loosens hinges. Ask for the brand and density. Thin doors on busy openings: use 28–30 mm for bedrooms and entrances. A wooden frame in a wet area: the frame base rots and the waterproof door is wasted. Poor frame alignment: a WPC door cannot fix an out-of-square opening. Wrong hardware: use stainless or coated hinges and screws in wet areas. No gap at the bottom: leave a few millimetres above the finished floor so water can drain and the door never drags.
