How to Choose the Right Bed Design
Storage need: a hydraulic box for bulky items, drawers for daily use, a platform if you want easy cleaning underneath. Room size: in small rooms choose a queen with drawers or a hydraulic lift, and a slim headboard. Common Mistakes
Building the frame before buying the mattress; no centre support on a queen or king platform; thin 12 mm sides on a storage bed; cheap hydraulic struts that are too weak for the lid and mattress; laminating only the outside; and MR plywood on a damp ground floor. A well-built plywood bed lasts 15–20 years.
