What Is High Gloss Laminate?
High gloss laminate is a decorative sheet pressed against a mirror-polished steel plate, which leaves a reflective, glass-like surface. Brands call it by different names: HG+ (High Gloss Plus) at Aroma and Phenolam, PU gloss at Cedarlam, UV+ at IPL, and HG / HG+ in the Durian Italia 0.8 mm range. The trade-off is simple: gloss looks spectacular but shows fingerprints, streaks and fine scratches more than any other finish.

Gloss doubles every light source. Under strong downlights or near a window, a slightly softer gloss or a matte base with gloss accents looks calmer.

Deep colours and white look best in gloss. Mid-tone woodgrains in gloss can look plasticky; try a textured woodgrain instead.

Care and Buying Tips
Clean with a microfibre cloth and mild soapy water, then dry immediately to avoid streaks. Never use scrubbers, abrasive powder or rough cloths; they leave permanent haze. Keep the protective film on until installation is finished. Buy one batch for the whole job, since gloss shows shade differences more than matte.
