Which BIS Standard Applies to What
The IS number printed on a product tells you which Indian standard it is made to. Here is what to look for on the products we sell.

Several of these products now fall under Quality Control Orders that make BIS certification mandatory; see India QCO for plywood. Standards are revised from time to time, so the edition year may change.
How to Check Any Sheet Yourself
Read the stamp. Brand, grade, IS number and batch should be printed or stamped on the sheet face or edge. A sheet with no IS mark is unverified, whatever anyone says. Match the invoice. The GST bill should name the same brand and grade as the stamp. Measure. Check thickness with a vernier at a few points. Be wary of price. "Branded marine plywood" far below market is the most common sign of a fake. Photograph the stamps before your carpenter laminates over them; you'll need them for any warranty claim.
